After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist and begin your exploration at one of the world's most celebrated archaeological landscapes — the Giza Plateau.

Stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, discover the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure and visit the legendary Great Sphinx.

Continue to the magnificent Grand Egyptian Museum, allowing sufficient time to explore its extraordinary collection and gain a deeper understanding of thousands of years of Ancient Egyptian civilisation.

Tonight, the Eclipse Express Begins

Later, transfer to Cairo Railway Station and board the Abela Elite Sleeper Train for your overnight journey south to Luxor.

Settle into your sleeping cabin and enjoy dinner on board as the train leaves Cairo behind and travels south through the Nile Valley.

Tomorrow morning, you will wake in Luxor on the most important day of the journey.

Arrival at Luxor & Eclipse Festival

An unforgettable day begins very early. about 6:00 AM. Arrive in Luxor. Meet your Egyptologist and travel directly to Luxor's West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Continue to the Abela × Amisol Total Solar Eclipse Festival on a specially selected green-field viewing site , with a reserved prime viewing area, individual guest space, chairs and umbrellas, water and soft drinks, light refreshments, Abela catering, a freshly grilled festival lunch, space for cameras and on-site coordination by Amisol Travel. Departure from the venue is planned from approximately 4:00 PM. In the evening, visit the magnificent Luxor Temple, especially atmospheric after sunset, then transfer to Luxor Railway Station and board the Abela Elite Sleeper Train back to Cairo. From approximately 4:00 PM, begin departing the Eclipse Festival venue.

Continue to Luxor Temple for an evening visit.

Beautifully illuminated as daylight fades, the temple provides an atmospheric conclusion to an unforgettable day.

Afterwards, transfer to Luxor Railway Station and board the train south to Aswan.

Upon arrival in Aswan, meet your local representative and transfer to your hotel for check-in and a well-earned rest.

ASWAN HIGHLIGHTS

PHILAE TEMPLE • HIGH DAM • FELUCCA ON THE NILE

After breakfast, begin exploring the highlights of Aswan.

Visit the Aswan High Dam, one of the great engineering projects of modern Egypt, with views across Lake Nasser and the surrounding landscape.

Continue by motorboat to the beautiful Temple of Philae.

Dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis, the temple complex was carefully relocated to save it from the rising waters created by the construction of the High Dam.

After sightseeing, return to your hotel for some time at leisure.

Sail the Nile

Later, board a traditional felucca for a peaceful sailing experience around Aswan's islands.

Enjoy the contrasting scenery of palms, granite rocks, desert and the blue waters of the Nile.

Return to your hotel after sailing.

Optional Abu Simbel

Travel south to Abu Simbel to discover the monumental rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari.

The enormous façade of Ramses II's Great Temple and the remarkable story of the temples' rescue and relocation make Abu Simbel one of Egypt's great archaeological experiences.

Following the visit, return to Aswan.

The Abu Simbel excursion is optional and is not included in the basic package price.

THE ECLIPSE EXPRESS RETURNS TO CAIRO

In the evening, transfer to Aswan Railway Station and board the Abela Elite Sleeper Train for your overnight journey north to Cairo.
